School nurses can support young people with their emotional wellbeing.

Every local authority school or academy has their own school nurse. Many of the high schools also have a drop-in school nurse service.

School Nurses can visit young people at home or at another location to suit the young person, providing appointments between 8.30am – 6pm in schools, GP surgeries and health centres.

School Nurses have a service called Chat Health which lets young people text their school nurse, in confidence, for advice and support. The service deals with all kinds of issues including, mental health, bullying, self-harm, alcohol and drugs, relationships, healthy eating and smoking.
