When life is busy with caring responsibilities, it is sometimes difficult to find the time to think about your future, but your dreams and your plans are important.
Here are some helpful resources and information about education, employment, training, aspirational activities and preparing your CV.

Do you need guidance on careers/ employment/ apprenticeships/ training?
Connexions is a confidential advice and support service for 13 – 19 year olds up to age 25 for young people with special needs Connexions offers impartial information, advice and guidance on:
- apprenticeships and other work-based learning opportunities
- choices in further and higher education training
- careers
- employment
- applications including CV and interview skills health and personal development opportunities
- opportunities to work and learn the way you want
If you are at a North Tyneside school you may be able to meet a Careers Adviser in school. Otherwise you can meet advisers at access points in the borough.

North East Raising Aspirations Partnership run an annual programme called YOU-NE CARES, providing young carers the opportunity to find out what it is like to be a student at University in the North East. The programme is free.

Through the Participation, Advocacy and Engagement Team you can get involved with the Youth Council, Young Mayor, Member of Youth Parliament, Young Persons Health and Wellbeing Board, Children’s Council, Children in Care Council, SEND Youth Forum
